Happy Ending - Mindy Braasch
Inspiration:
When I was a little girl, I loved fairytales! And as you know, most fairytales have the same basic storyline: the hero and the heroine meet, and there are conflicts, but in the end, they fall in love and live happily ever after. I wrote this song wondering about the possibility of love in reality being like the love in fairytales.
Lyrics:
In the story, there’s always a boy and a girl who fall in love
In the story, there’s always a happy ending
I don’t know, I wanna believe, but it’s hard sometimes, hard sometimes
In the story, their love is never pretending
Chorus:
Is this love real? Is it pretend?
Not sure how to feel, don’t know how it ends
I know it’s not a fairytale
Is this a happy ending, happy ending, yeah
In the story, they always do the right thing in the end
With me and you, I hope I don’t break or bend
All I can do is not be afraid, won’t let fear stop me now, fear stop me now
Won’t regret, don’t wanna learn to hate
Castles and princesses
Life isn’t always what they say it is
But somehow I believe there is much more that we could be
Take a chance and think about you and me oh
Chorus
Maybe someday my life will be that story
Maybe sometime love will work out for me
But I won’t sit here waiting for life to help me out, help me out, no
I’ll create my own ending
Chorus
